Be it pregnancy, childbirth or menopause, female gynaecologist Dr Regina takes pride in being part of the various stages of a patient’s life. Being the mother of two young children herself, she understands what mothers today must cope with and draws from her own experience to advocate natural childbirth and breastfeeding. To complement her practice, Dr Regina collaborates with her husband Dr Christopher Ng who practices at GynaeMD Women’s & Rejuvenation Clinic, #04-03A Camden Medical Centre, which provides obstetric, gynaecological and aesthetic medical services.
Dr Regina is experienced in carrying out prenatal and gynaecological screenings, as well as all types of delivery methods, such as vaginal, instrumental (forceps) and C-section deliveries. Dr Regina is also dedicated to treating all kinds of women’s health issues, including menstrual, fertility and menopausal problems. An accomplished female gynae, she is skilled in performing keyhole (minimally invasive) surgery, which allows for faster recovery, greater comfort and reduced risks for the patient.
After graduating from the National University of Singapore (NUS), Dr Regina completed further medical training at the KK Women’s & Children’s Hospital (KKH) and the National University Hospital. She attained fellowships from the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (FRCOG) in the UK and the Academy of Medicine, Singapore (FAMS).
A registered colposcopist with the Society for Colposcopy & Cervical Pathology of Singapore, female gynaecologist Dr Regina is experienced in the management of pre-invasive cervical disease. She is a member of the Obstetrical & Gynaecological Society of Singapore (OGSS) where she speaks at the OGSS Public Forum, addressing concerns about menopause and hormone replacement therapy. Dr Regina has presented research papers at numerous local and international conferences, and has also been published in the Singapore Medical Journal and KK Hospital Review.
Dr Regina is dedicated to teaching medical undergraduates, having been a Clinical Teacher and Examiner for the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine at NUS. The female gynae also served as a Physician Faculty for the SingHealth O&G Residency Programme and was a Core Faculty for the SingHealth Transitional Year Residency Programme, for which she was instrumental in developing the training curriculum.
During her clinical practice days at KKH, Dr Regina was the Education Supervisor for House Officers and also taught specialists-in-training. She was actively involved in setting benchmarks for clinical quality and the improvement of healthcare services. Prior to leaving for private practice, she was in the Minimally Invasive Surgery unit.
An established female gynaecologist in Singapore, Dr Regina has been a recipient of numerous industry awards. In recognition of her outstanding service and compassion at KKH, she was bestowed with three Service From The Heart Awards, the Singapore Health Quality Service Award, and the Excellent Service Award (EXSA). She has also won accolades from trainee doctors and medical students.
Aside from medicine, Dr Regina enjoys Pilates and yoga. She was a prolific writer of poetry with her award-winning short stories published and play script read at TheatreWorks. These days, much to the delight of her little girls, Dr Regina’s literary works centre on stories about fairy princesses and teddy bears.
